Dark-Eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis)
Appearance is dark grey to brownish gray with a white belly and a pale bill. Is found in woods, bogs, and mountains above tree level as well as in suburban yards. Prefers nests of grasses and moss and near tall vegetation. Feeds on various scattered seeds on the ground including millet, cracked corn, and hulled sunflower. Length is 6 inches.
