American Goldfinch (Carduellis tristis)
Male is best known for its distinguished bright yellow body with black wings in its breeding colors. Found in open areas with shrubs and trees as well as farms and suburban yards and gardens. Diet is primarily thistle and hulled sunflower seed from feeders. Five inches in length. Weight, 0.3 ounces.
