Northern Cardinal- Female (Cardinalis cardinalis)
8.5 inches in length. Weighs 1.6 ounces and differs in appearance significantly from her male counterpart with her grayish brown and reddish tones. Found in shrubs, woods, and open areas. Prefers nests of twigs, bark, and leaves in shrubbery and in trees. Is attracted to safflower and cracked corn on the ground from feeders.
