Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata)
Songs sound like "jay" and "toolool" as well as a grating, ratchet-like call. This twelve inch eastern region bird weighs three ounces and nests in materials including twigs, bark, and leaves. Nests primarily in trees. Can be attracted to feeders with mixed seed, sunflower, and cracked corn. Will also come to birdbaths for drinking and bathing.
